Krach
Her breath caught. Sharp | Shallow. As if the air had turned to glass. Tears blurred the edges of her vision, but she refused to let them fall. The weight of it all pressed against her ribs: grief, anger, a loneliness so vast it seemed to hum in her veins. She clenched her fists, nails biting into palms, and whispered to the empty room. «Why does this keep happening to me?» The words hung there, fragile and raw, before dissolving into silence.
Her mind sharpened, filing away the jagged edges of hurt. Logic was her scalpel, precise and sterile.
But as she typed the email, her fingers hesitated. A memory flickered. Her father’s voice echoed from years ago: «You don’t have to fix everything alone.» The cursor blinked. For a heartbeat, she let the ache rise, unedited. Then she added a single line at the end:
«P.S. I’d appreciate your perspective on this. It matters to me.»
The vulnerability was a crack, almost invisible. But it was hers. And it was loud!
